Feevy goes faster

Monday, May 7th, 2007

Today we have upgraded feevy’s database. Now, feevies are being loaded in each blog a half the time it used to spend.

We have also improved dramaticly the time spent in updating. We have reduced the maximum time spent before a new post was shown in the feevies from three hours and a half to less than an hour.

We are improving and we hope to tell you more improvements this week!!

We move…

wanna be presidents - a new feevy blog aggregator

Thursday, March 22nd, 2007

wanna be presidents is an aggregator of blogs for US 2008 presidential hopefuls. built with feevy, wanna be presidents aggregates all presidential bloggers (currently 16 by our count) into three categories: republicans, democrats, and independents. wanna be presidents is an easy and effective way to view different campaigns on the same page.

because feevy is built upon RSS, wanna be presidents relies on candidates’ RSS feeds. in building the site, david de ugarte and i were quite surprised to discover that many republican presidential candidates, including john mccain, duncan hunter, and tom tancredo, have not integrated RSS into their web presences. which begs the question - who is advising these guys?

we welcome your feedback on wanna be presidents and look forward to adding more candidates as they join the race.

Feevy tags: how to use them

Monday, March 12th, 2007

You might have seen on your Feevy manage panel that you can now add tags for each of your blogs. This feature will help you create different feevy from your own feevy.

Here is an example: http://www.streetr.net
This feevy page about streetart contains the same feevy, but select the blogs to display depending on tags - artists or tagged photos in this example.

So, first you have to tag the blogs in Feevy manage panel, just by clicking “add to edit” near the tag label, and entering your new tags. Validate your choice by clicking on the submit button.

Then, on your webpage where you have your feevy code, just filter the tags your want to display using the following format to replace the “src” attribute in your Feevy code:

src=”http://www.feevy.com/code/your_id/tag/cooking” to display your feevy’s blog tagged with “cooking” in the default Feevy style.

src=”http://www.feevy.com/code/your_id/tags/trip+asia/white” to display your feevy’s blog tagged with “trip” and “asia” in the Feevy white style.

Possibilities extends a lot with tags. Be creative and you’ll find great games to play with your Feevy!
